Become a member today!

GEARS accepts new members throughout the year, so it is never too late to join! Please complete the following steps to become a member.

1. Fill out the Membership Form

2. Pay your member dues on the KISD Web Store (KCAL>Engineering>Membership Dues)

3. Send a PDF or screenshot of your receipt to kcalgears@gmail.com

4. Check the Member Hub for the latest announcements and to get caught up

Please note the following items:

• Membership dues must be paid to be considered a GEARS member

• To be a GEARS member, you must attend 6 GEARS meetings or events throughout the year

• If you complete both above items, you will earn one graduation cord for your senior year!

FAQ

Q: How do I know if I have filled out the membership form of not?

A: The form is set to only be filled out once, so try to fill it out and see if it lets you. However, if you do somehow fill it out twice, it will get filtered out of our system and we will combine your attendance points.

Q: What if I can't attend 6 meetings?

A: We have at least one meeting/event per month that GEARS members can attend, so there should be plenty of attendance opportunities! If you find yourself unable to reach the 6 meetings minimum, please contact kcalgears@gmail.com or missjennabeckley@gmail.com.

Q: How do I get a GEARS T-Shirt?

A: A T-Shirt order will be placed soon, and we will order one then. For now, contact kcalgears@gmail.com or missjennabeckley@gmail.com to receive one of last year's T-Shirts.

Q: Do I need to pay extra for GEARS fields trips or events?

A: Unless otherwise specified in an event's descripion, everything is included in the $20 membership fee thanks to our incredible sponsors.

Q: How do I get attendance at each meeting/event?

A: At meetings, there will be a check-in table next to our sponsored treats where you will need to check-in to receive an attendance point for the meeting. If something goes awry, contact Jenna Beckley at missjennabeckley@gmail.com

Q: How do I get involved with GEARS?

A: Check the Membership Hub! If you'd like to get involved more, we will offer community service hours for helping at GEARS events. For more information on this or how to get involved, send a text to Jenna Beckley at 817-888-2783.
